Highlands Hotel
The Highland Hotel could be considered the Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort’s flagship hotel. Centrally located within the resort, the Highland Hotel offers a convenient position for reaching the resort’s leisure, golfing and conferencing facilities. The hotel is a four-star venue, the only hotel of this class at the resort, with a broad range of superior accommodation and the Aviemore Highland Resort’s major restaurant, known as Aspects.
Rooms
The Macdonald Highlands Hotel carries 151 premium en-suite bedrooms. Guests may choose between Classic or Executive rooms, all of which are warmly decorated and comfortably furnished. Classic Rooms are spacious and relaxing, with appealing views of the Scottish mountains. In-room amenities include toiletries, LCD TV, workspace with Internet access, hairdryer, iron and board, and tea and coffee facilities. In addition, Executive Rooms carry countryside vistas and little extras including a minibar, bathrobe and slippers.
Dining
The Highland Hotel’s Aspects Restaurant and Bar offers the best in formal dining at the Aviemore Highland Resort. The restaurant provides a hearty Scottish breakfast or a continental buffet between the hours of 7.30am and 10.30am, but the restaurant is best enjoyed for it’s evening atmosphere. Between the hours of 6.30pm and 9.30pm Aspects provides a refined dining destination, where guests can enjoy a beautifully prepared seasonal menu, supported by a great wine list and piano accompaniment. Children are permitted in the restaurant until 8pm and the restaurant provides a children’s menu. Aspects is a formal restaurant and implements a smart dress code. Pre-booking is also highly recommended.
This being Scotland, the Aviemore Highland Resort is also home to Laggan Whisky Bar, which carries over 60 different whiskies for guests to try. There is also a typical drinks menu available for non-whisky lovers, and a menu for bar meals.
